Brussels, April 11th, 2026 – The Hindu Forum Belgium (HFB) held its Yearly General Assembly today, bringing together representatives from various member organizations and distinguished guests to review a year of growth and to chart the course for the future.
A Year of Significant Progress
The Assembly opened with a review of the 2025 Board Activity Report, which highlighted several key achievements that have strengthened the presence of Hinduism in Belgium. HFB participated in high-level meetings with religious and diplomatic leaders, reinforcing its role as a key interlocutor for the community. The launch of a new multilingual website and an upgraded logo has modernized the HFB’s communication, making resources more accessible to the public. From hosting a stand at the Diwali event at the Atomium to participating in International Meditation Day, the HFB remained at the heart of community life.
Financial Integrity and Growth
The Assembly unanimously approved the 2025 Financial Report, noting a balanced management of resources primarily supported by public subsidies. This financial stability has allowed the HFB to professionalize its secretariat and expand its administrative capacity to better serve its members.
Looking Ahead to 2027
The vision for the coming year is one of expansion and connection. The President announced that 2026 will be the “Year of Membership,” with a strategic focus on affiliating new organizations and reaching out to diverse Hindu communities across Belgium.
Building on the ongoing “Mapping Hinduism in Belgium” project—conducted in collaboration with Ghent University—the HFB aims to create a more unified and transparent voice for all Hindus in the country.
The meeting concluded with a spirit of collaboration, as guests from various communities and organizations were encouraged to join the HFB family. As the HFB moves closer toward official recognition, it remains dedicated to fostering mutual understanding and collaboration between all communities in Belgium.
